Warp's Maze
A downloadable game for Windows
PLAY THE HOT FIX VERSION AFTER YOU VOTE PLEASE> It's only fair.
This game is a <<WIP>> lots of bugs and missing content. This game is a passion project and I love to work on it every year. Please enjoy! I hope you can make it to the end!
It is best played with controller. But Keyboard & Mouse works too.
At the eleventh hour, I had to start cutting content and I broke the character controller. So this game is hard to control in it's current state =(
Controls:
* WASD to move
* Shift to run
* Space to jump
* Mouse to look
* Click for Moon Beam
Wall Jumping:
* While mid-air and near a wall, try to move chip away from the wall and he will start sliding down it. While sliding, you can press jump to perform a wall jump. <<Only certain areas allow wall jumping >>
Ledge Climbing:
* Chip will automatically grab on to ledges. Press Jump to climb the ledge. Press Action to let go. <<Only certain areas allow ledge climbing. >>
HOTFIX version:
I enabled fullscreen & fixed character falling motion when not running.
Running in either version is insanely fast because the maps are huge and empty.
WARNING: do not step on the Foot Switch Block in D1.1. It will cause an infinite loop with the door animation. It wasn't always like this of course.
You need to place the attached save file into your local low folder to unlock all areas and abilities. %AppData%/LocalLow/DefaultCompany/WarpsMaze
Warp's Maze is a spiritual successor to my other game, PyraMaze. Check it out here:

games that look like this make me want to become a game dev in a small team in germany in the early 2000s working on a game that no one in europe will play, but for some reason will become a cult classic in like mongolia or sth
Thanks! Warp’s Maze is super unfinished. I would love to come back to it some day. BTW - If you are interested in retro games and game jams - check out the 32BitJam series. It a series of game jams with a focus on retro-styled games. https://itch.io/jam/32bit-summer-games-2024
